Before you take your practical test you must first pass the theory test. MINT recommends you get a head start and begin revision straight away.
The Driving Theory Test is a computerised test consisting of multiple-choice questions about the theory of driving, rules, laws, and the Highway Code. It is followed by a video-based hazard perception test, which is designed to test your ability to observe potential hazards both on and around the road.
Your MINT Driving Instructor will give you tips on how to revise and where to get revision material from.
As soon as you feel ready you can book your Theory Test online here.
Don’t forget, you’ll need to take your driving licence with you to the test. Without it you won’t be allowed to sit the test and will lose your fee.
You’ll get the result on the day at the Theory Test Centre, and you must pass both parts in order to pass the test.
In order to pass you’ll need to score the following as a minimum:
Questions 43 out of 50
Hazard Perception: 44 out of 75
