Flashing on Derby Roads – Driving Lessons Help Cut Speeding
Derby and Derbyshire speed cameras have taken more than £2m in fines over the last five years, according to the Derbyshire Times! Between 2008 and 2013, motorists were stung for £2,272,200 in fines after being caught speeding on the county’s roads. Safety cameras have been in operation across the county since 1994 and since then, the amount of people killed or seriously injured has dropped by 40 per cent on routes where cameras are in use.
At Mint Driving School, we’re not necessarily for or against speed cameras in Derby and Derbyshire, but we are all for learner drivers adopting good habits right from the start, and that means gaining a good understanding of safe speeds and sensible driving, because the percentages of previously wasted lives speak for themselves.
If you’re learning to drive, or if you’d like to advance your driving skills, our male and female Derby Driving instructors give driving lessons to people of all standards and in both manual and automatic vehicles.
